About Us
Family owned and operated.
We are a family owned and operated business based in the upper Rakaia River in Mid Canterbury, New Zealand.
We live at Black Hill Station and in the past 20 years we have completed a significant amount of fencing on the property.
We have built the majority of this fencing ourselves. Over this period there has been a huge variation in the quality of the material available while the cost has increased significantly.
There were a lot of products that we were not able to buy in New Zealand, the best way to change this was to set up our own company and get things made for our requirements. There are numerous products that we now stock that were not readily available. Y posts and T Irons with hole patterns to match netting and plain wires, barred sheep yard gates in a range of sizes, heavy duty farm gates, these and other products that we carry in stock had to be made to order.
Our products are based on what best suits the demands of building and maintaining fences in New Zealand conditions. Because we started by sourcing material for our own property, which we were going to be personally installing, quality is really important to us.
When we first started the business we were importing everything we stocked. Now we only import gates (made to our specs and are significantly heavier than most gates available in New Zealand), Y posts and T irons (for which there are no domestic manufacturers).
We have used the products that we now sell through New Zealand Fencing Solutions on the last 100 km of fencing on Black Hill. We used our material on 29 km of high country fencing as a result of Tenure Review. Some of those fences are in extremely challenging country which was a great way to test out our material.
The number of people who have supported this venture has blown us away, it is hugely rewarding to know that we are able to help people with their requirements. Our aim remains the same as when we first started out. Supply quality products at an affordable price. We won't sell what we won't use ourselves.
Thank you for the support.
