Product description:

We have rise plates available for Y Posts. These are essential on any rise that is equal to or greater than the distance between the ground and the bottom wire. For example, if the bottom wire is 125mm off the ground and the rise is 125mm then a rise plate is required unless the ground is extremely rocky. Over time the Y Post will suck into the ground which will result in the bottom wire rotting out and the other wires loosening. Rise plates were a common item in the past with flat standards and T Irons but have not been available for Y Posts. Using rise plates not only results in a better fence long term but will save the owner money as a Y Post can now be used where a wooden post would have traditionally been used at two or three times the cost once installed.

Some of New Zealand Fencing Solutions Y Posts now come with an extra hole at ground level for the rise plate to be secured to. They are very simple to use, once the  Y Posts are driven, the rise plate is slid over the top of any that require a rise plate and then a short piece of No8 wire is placed through the hole holding the plate in position.
